Fantastic! One of the best movie (and anti-war) scenes ever banned on film.
Now you need a proper scale surfboard.

LOL! That scene was the basis for the title of a Vietnam-era Group Build on another modeling Forums. They call them campaigns over there and their Vietnam one is called "Charlie Don't Surf".
Great scene!
Looking forward to seeing this one started.

Such a great sequence... here’s Yater’s Copy (edit sorry the photo is a fuzzy; it really should be sharp, pixels pixels where are you?):mostrich wrote:Damn, you know it all, don't you?!

Upload 1 - Fixed thanks to Torben the Pixel Hunter
There is definitely enough good info to make decals, don’t ya think?

Duke,
I feel like I am missing out on some of the more interesting areas of building when I think about an entire group build devoted to Vietnam Nam era choppers. Is this what you and Torben were referencing in an earlier exchange when Stuart’s GB was but a gleam of light in an otherwise dark jungle?

Mostly random notes... jottings... “Sell the House... Sell the Kids... I’m Never Coming Back.”
Okay, then!
1/32 Revell Huey Gunship. Started here. Never saw one built before. Read Lyle’s thread. Why the 1/32 scale? Problems may be finding decals, parts and figures as well as an old kit.
1/48 Revell Huey Hog. Not a 1D or 1H but a 1C? Still could be fun retro build as long as nobody is counting details... myself included.
1/48 Hobby Boss 1C (I think). Possible. Although the interior is... will I be able to build anything out of the box? Edit: I have been leaning towards this kit recently with AM decals, and balsa wood surf boards.
1/48 Kitty Hawk 1D/H. Valhalla, but am I proficient enough to build this yet?
1/48 Italeri Iroquois/Slick. Wrong rotors unless I perform surgery. Still. A lot of parts! Am I grown up enough to tackle this?

Absolutely, I'm amazed! Mr. Duvall would approve, lol.speedgraflex wrote: There is definitely enough good info to make decals, don’t ya think?
Bruce, if you're using codes instead of the
codes that the forum software is giving you, the picture will be shown in its original size (if smaller than 1024 pixels). Smaller pics get blown up to the maximum size and start to blurr out. As an example I took your upload and put it between the codes:
To your chopper decision: I'm sure the HB kit would be the no headache build. The KH one is the most detailed player in town for sure. Can you tell the exact version they've used for the movie?
