Two More Aircraft from the Duke

Well, here are some of the aircraft I managed to get done so far. It feels great to finally finish something!

This first one is my P-40 Warhawk that came in a dual set from AMT. The sprue for the landing gear was lost so there are no doors on the gear bays. Also, since the tail wheel was gone, I sifted through my spares box and found the closest thing to a tail wheel I could find. Yes, it is grossly over scale, but it completes the model and that's all that matters to me. I'm tired of almost finished models sitting on my workbench waiting til parts re-appear! This one goes on the shelf today:

Next up is the ancient Heller Lanssen that now sits completed on my shelf:

That's all my finished aircraft for now. I also finished up some armor so feel free to check them out as well. Thanks for looking in, comments are welcome.

AMT did a P-40? Must be some decades ago, looking at the raised panel lines... If you wouldn´t have mentioned the replacement tail wheel, I would not have noticed... :quotes:

The Lanssen, don´t know, look like a mixture of the P-80 Shooting Star and a Hawker Hunter. Who knows? :giggles:

Thanks Thomas for the awesome reply. AMT simply re-boxed the Monogram P-40 in a dual set with the P-51B Mustang. I even shot a pic of the inside of the P-40 wing showing the Monogram stamp and copyright.

I agree about the Lanssen, Perhaps they had some ideas from the US and Great Britain?

I had never noticed that about the Lansen until you mentioned that Thomas. At least about the resemblance to the two other types. But it sure does share features of both.

Too bad about the P-40 tail wheel Mark. It does not look too too big, but it does set the stance off a bit. Otherwise it looks just fine.

Thanks Carlo. Yeah, if I ever find the missing sprue, I'll be able to replace it. Until then, that bird is on the shelf.

Well done. Those Saab aircraft are different. I have 2 jets and a prop job in my stash.
