Hi Gents, here you go, the HobbyBoss version of the MiG-31B Foxhound. My first completed build for 2018, despite having done it the waning months of 2017. Happy to share it with you

My Verdict: A lower -than-average kit. It could have been a stellar of a kit if it weren't for some flaws, particularly the dreaded intake joint gaps. it had its high marks (white metal landing gear, thin decals, fine surface details). I have read great reviews and build commentaries about the AMK kit. It might be so that the HB version could be delegated as a down-grade alternative to the AMK. However, if a modeler can oversee the flaws and instead see the plus points of the kit, then it might be a great alternative to the AMK version.

The kit builds into a massive model. I compared it with Academy's F-16 Sufa in 1/32 scale and it almost matched its length. The weight of the model was quite heavy and a surefire to convince modelers that they need a white metal landing gear (something the AMK kit does not have)

Stunning.....

Even if some issues with the kit, you have Monty made a stunning result! Just absolutely great build!

Like I said on FB: You turned s**t into gold.This is an incredible result.
And here's a recommendation for you HB engineers: Read the WIP and do better next time!

Monty, that is indeed one fantastic build. A beautiful big imposing beast of a Mig. There may have problems along the way, but looking at the finished build, you would never know it.

Congratulations! The photos are fantastic, too. Great detail shots and leveled framing. Such a pleasure to see your work!

Many many thanks for the support, guys. Very happy the drama is all done. I have learned a few new things and that is a blessing in disguise. Hopefully I can use it for my future builds.
