Two More Tanks from the Duke

Just recently I was able to finish two more tanks this month. This first one is the Modelcollect T-80U main battle tank:

The second one is the IBG Japanese Type 89 Late tank:

You can see I added the Japanese flag to the side. Hopefully no more confusion about this being a Japanese tank....

Here's an overhead shot to show more of the camouflage pattern:

Yes, one of the hatches is missing. Someday when I find it I'll add it to this tank. Until then, I'm declaring this done.

Just for fun, here's a couple shots of this tank next to the Type 89 Early so you can see some of the differences:

Finally, a shot of these two with a no. 11 Exacto blade to show how small they are:

That's all for now. I also finished two aircraft, feel free to check them out in the Aircraft Forums. Thanks for looking in, comments are welcome.

Very cool Mark! It looks like the Japanese had the same idea as the Italians for “medium tanks”. Even their US contemporary pre war mediums of the M2 and M3 were monsters by comparison.
Now the T-80U, there is a mean tank! And you did another fine job there.

Very nice ones!

& would be even greater to see those two, the Type 89 next to the T-80 ?
If possible...

Thanks for the awesome comments guys! I agree Carlos; there does seem to be some similarities in Italian and Japanese designs. Interesting....

Kari, thanks! Let me see what I can do....

When I saw those tanks sitting next to a #11 Xacto blade I couldn't believe the detail. You must have really good eyesight and very steady hands. 1/35 scale tanks push my limits because my aged eyes and hands couldn't handle that level of detail. Very well done. Some really great looking 1/72 masterpieces.

Thanks WJ. My eyesight is okay. I'm nearsighted so all I do is take off my glasses to see what I'm doing. Sometimes I have steady hands too...... unless I overdo it on caffeine! LOL! :giggles:

IBG made those tanks. They did a great job of making them fun and easy to build.
