Ba 349 Natter 1/48 DML

It seems as though it's been a long time I haven't posted 
so after a gently reminder 
I thought I'd show you guys and gals what I've been working on of late.
The Natter was one of the late war German efforts to try and stem the bomber tide and it's story is entirely fascinating. Although the type is being eclipsed by the more famous Me 262, Me 163 and He 162, the Natter is a tour de force in more ways than one. It was conceived and made by an almost unknown constructor. It was made entirely of wood. The take-off, flight profile, armament, guidance system and "landing" method where all new and previously untried. Last but not least, it is the first manned aircraft in history to take off vertically, although the pilot died in the process... That it almost made it into operational status is hard to conceive!
This is the Dragon kit with the pole launcher.
The kit's pit is rather bare but so was the real thing. Except for a few scratched details it’s OOB. I tried the new Steelbelts from Eduard and I’m quite happy with the product.
Once the pit is done there's not much in way of construction, not even an undercarriage, so assembly is quick. And although Dragon kits can be tricky to assemble this one went together without a hitch.
Next up: pics of the paint job.

Very nice! Beautiful work on a not so beautiful aircraft.
