I have finished my Tupolev ANT-5. This the Zvezda boxing of the old Berkut kit. I found it a surprisingly easy build. You do have to take care and treat it like a short run kit: clean all the parts and test fit them!

The build tread is here:

The only thing I added since then are windows and rigging.

All comments are welcome.

Very nicely done, Borg. The corrugated metal fuselage and wings reminds me on early Junkers planes. Never seen that on a Russian design.

It has a really a very nice metallic finish!
Also the 1 cent coin really shows how tiny it is!

I think some of their interwar aircraft like their large bomber/transport, whose designation escapes me at the moment, also used corrugated metal wings.

I really, really think the world of this project, the assembly, painting, rigging and now the base! Fantastic, Borg! I was happy to see "Honest Abe" make an appearance for purposes of scale. So tiny and well done. Congratulations!

The Soviets (Andrei Tupolev especially) where quite fond of using corrugated skin after there experience with Junkers aircraft. They used it on a lot of designs: bombers, fighters, etc.
Examples: I-4, I-1, TB-1,TB-3, R-6 and the famous Maxim Gorki.
