I have finished my MiG-21. Most of the build was easy, good fit, good decals etc. I build a lot of short run and old kits and the quality of this was a revalation for me. The gear however was a bit fiddly.

The whole thing has been painted with a rattle can, than washed with gray to tone it down. Several panels where picked out with an oil wash (gear, cannon, fuel tank) for weathering. Other panels where slightly polished with graphite powder to break up the monotonous aluminium finish.

Borg, that is a mighty fine finish. Your NMF came out looking great! And that is a brilliant idea to use graphite’s and oil paints to give the multi tone effect. Great work!

Beautiful! Your work always leads the viewer to contemplate form and color—the variegated shimmer of the metal is very good! Both hands together!
