I was not aware of that Dauntless existed also !
How did you actually make the seats, they look very “real”, straight from the sprue..

I used Evergreen Channel for back and sides (so just one piece). The lower part is just a piece of styrene. So it is just two parts. That makes it easy.

That is a great simple idea for making seats... I wonder if them make channel that would work for 48th scale seats..,

For this tiny scale or even 1/72 channel works fine. 1/48 might be to large.
I have put some paint on and opened the air intake of the Wildcat. It is very much in sight so I think a little effort will pay of. After five minutes with the small drill and Exacto in the picture I opened up the intake.

Question: the instructions tell me to paint the bombs black. But I always thought the US painted their bombs in olive drab. Does anyone have information one that?

Olive Drab it is. US bombs have not been black. Pre WWII live HE bombs were actually yellow. That practice continued early into US involvement, before OD was standardized. Chemical bombs, (incendiaries, smoke, has, etc.) were gray with red markings. Inert practice bombs were blue. Early in the war, the USN overpainted yellow bombs into light gray to not compromise the camouflage of aircraft when the bombs were carried externally.

Yes, I already though olive drab. So that is why is is going to be. I will look for some yellow decal stripe for the marking.

First layer of white is on. They will need some more layers but that is to be expected. And I also started on the props.
