This is the Bandai 1/12 scale BB-8 kit that I finished. Haven't built much since last fall, but got this little guy done.

Even though he comes molded in the correct colors, I repainted all the parts with mixes of Tamiya paints before assembling him. The little disc of desert on the base was made from Milliput epoxy putty.

Thank you Lyle. How I've been is kind of a loaded question! Last October I experienced a perforated colon and spent 15 days in the hospital, having 2 surgeries and one colostomy. Recovered from that and the day after Christmas my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, so have been dealing with that and all that goes with it. Had a Dr. appointment in February and he wanted me to drop some weight, so completely changed my diet, instituted an exercise routine, and dropped over 20 lbs in 8 weeks. Dr. happy, have a pre-op apt this coming Monday to get my colostomy reversed, so sometime in the next couple weeks I imagine, back to the hospital for me and another surgery. After a safety evaluation on my mother several weeks ago, several areas where she needs extra help were identified and the conclusion arrived at that she needs a bit more help on a consistent basis . Two weeks ago my wife left her job to devote more time to care for my mother, two weeks ago I started working more  :whiteflag: :whiteflag: :whiteflag: :whiteflag: So yeah, that's that. I try to squeeze in some modeling time as much as I can as that is my little sanity break. On the plus side our son graduates Saturday from UNH with a BS in biochemistry and a minor in genetics and has an interview at Boston Children's Hospital Monday, and three weeks ago our oldest daughter birthed our first grandchild. And so it goes....

When it rains, it pours. But there is a rainbow - the graduation and grandchild! We, too, have lived through Alzheimers. My wife's mother died from it several years ago. You are certainly doing the right thing. Sorry to hear of the surgery, but man, you sound like it is under control and headed in the right direction. Great job on the weight loss. Please keep us posted! You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thumbs up on what amounted to a total repaint, but the results were definitely worth it. Lovely base, too! I’m glad you’re on the mend—especially after having so much happen to you so fast. You and your family will be in my prayers.
