This subject gave me the idea for doing the blue camo on the Ar 234, and this 1/72nd Ju 188 was built straight after the jet. A really nice kit from Haseagawa. I added some Eduard PE, resin wheels and exhausts and a resin compass swing from Kora. Been wanting to do an aircraft on one of these for ages.

This is a 10 on my awesomeness scale. Not am I only a huge fan of the late Ju 88 derivates, you also put her on a Kompensationsscheibe (Compensation Disc). That is super cool and a thing I wanna absolutely do in 1:48.

mostrich, i have a 72nd swing for the 190 as well, i plan on putting an A-8 on it. Kora have a wide selection in 72nd and 4 in 48th. A little rough but with a bit of work they come out nice, and its certainly somthing different.

Figures in 1/48 and 1/72 are a sparse market unlike 1/35. Would like to see more for aircraft dioramas

That's an outstanding model Bish - lovely work.

I'm fascinated by that compass correction swing and I'll to do some more research into it to see how they used it. I had to do many a compass correction swing when I was an engineer, but we didn't have access to anything like that - we had to turn the aircraft. What's interesting is that you're supposed to have everything turning and burning whilst you do it, otherwise you don't know how much the engines and radios etc. affect the compass - and therefore you can't correct it. It must have been a site to have something like a 188 on that rig with everything running!

I'll second that. The Preiser/Revell 72nd sets are nice but you just can't get hold of them. And for other countries its even worse.
