What is that, Stuart? Seriously: I have never used Tamiya cement—Testors, Mr. Cement, yes.

Sorry Bruce - I was being flippant - It could have just as easily been a picture of an any plastic glue. Tamiya thin is good stuff though - I suspect other companies make stuff that's similar but it works for me. I also still use old fashioned Humbrol Tube glue as well.

I made some time ago the simple but "revealing" cement test, where the one with the best bond was not Tamiya, but Mr Cement S

As much as I love Tamiyas Extra Thin and especially Tamiya Extra Thin Quick Setting, when I need a good bond, then I use Mr Cement S, without a doubt!

Stuart not to worry... my Dad drummed into my head that proper fit was first and foremost the goal of all builders. I strive to make the kit dry fit without pressuring components. What Carlos and you and others saw was a fuselage design issue that needed to be overcome somehow. Thankfully steam is still the answer. I use travel steamers on nearly every plastic kit to repair warped plastic. The Dad story links to him showing me a Mercedes convertible from the late Seventies he was rebuilding for a friend. The frame slotted together like a model kit.

Looking thru the site, I suspect that the bomb bay and associated weapons delivery accuracy issues had much to do with the demise of the nuclear strike role for the aircraft.

I think so too, ”marvellous” idea seen from engineering point of view, but in practice everything but. The destiny of the Vigilante was to become a Rec plane instead and eventually pulled off. Very interesting pages all in all, now I also would want to have one Vigilante in my stash...
