The Love Bug Rides Again

Post by LyleW »

Okay, not a bandit, but certainly a rebel!

This is the Tamiya 1/24 1966 VW Beetle. Herbie was a 1963, I believe, but hey...……and I'm gonna use the stock wheels.

Sort of looking forward to this one getting under way.

and may look like this when / if done...

Well first off it's a Tamiya build so it should go together painlessly. Secondly it's a really cool subject so it's just gonna be a really cool build.

Here's a link to the decal sheet if you haven't found a source for that already: http://www.ffsmc-productions.com/en/124 ... e-bug.html

Pretty good lookin' sheet:

That’s why I went with the Tamiya....it was also a ‘66, so the bumpers were better suited, and it’s a Bug! Should be fun. Hope you don’t mind questions.

Oh, and it 7 to 10 times cheaper than a Herbie kit...sheesh!

One of my favorite movies growing up and watching it at the drive in on those hot summer nights in my dad’s station wagon.Watching this one for sure...
