Cool. Their concert is what I downloaded. Excellent. I am using a section from LIFA as a temporary score for a short film I just made.

With your Going Merrily I was wondering about final finish. Are you aesthetically heading towards capturing the animated look or more of the ideal look (fantasy vs realism). Your painting choices up to now could kinda go either way. An additional “varnish” of color tinted Future might be interesting in the sense that you would give more of a gloss sheen to your painting.

Bruce I'm kinda going to mix the two together with some things being more realistic and others more animated.

Another small update. Painted the upper cabin and the masts the same way I painted the decks my darkening some boards first with black. The cabin is painted a 50/50 mix of Tamiya Flat Brown and Flat Earth. The edge of the roof was painted AK Real Colors red brown. The masts was painted Tamiya Desert Sand. Next up will be some detail painting.

Got most of the building done now and the painting. The big decal on the sail was a real pain to get in place, I have three winkles and a small tear in it right now. I'm hoping another few applications of Micro Sol will take care of the winkles. I had about twelve winkles in it before the first coat of Micro Sol.

Going to start on the water next. Need to learn about how a boat makes a wake in the water and how to model that.

That is coming along nicely! The wood painting looks great.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Thank you Lyle! They was painted the same as all the other wood with black being put down on a few boards first, then a 50/50 mix of Tamiya flat brown and flat earth.

Wonderful work, the colors are spot on!

Let's hope Micro Sol does what it should do!

Thanks Bruce! I've read through that build as well as his Indianapolis build. What I'm lost in is the V shaped waves coming off the bow. How many? How far apart? Distance and angle from ship? Also this being a sailing ship wouldn't be any chop coming from props under the water.

Kari, just checked on the decals and they are looking great, maybe one more coat.
