1st Bandai makes great kits and this was a really fun build! Luffy and the rest of the Strawhat Pirates are now ready to sail. The Going Merry was the first real ship of the Strawhat Pirates, Luffys first ship wasn't much more than a rowboat. They sailed her all through the East Blue and into the Grand Line up to Water 7 when she was so badly damaged she just couldn't go anymore. Leaving her at Water 7 the crew went out to rescue Robin their translator and archaeologist who had been captured by the world government. The spirit of the ship knowing they was in trouble reached out to the shipwright Iceberg telling him she wanted to set sail one last time so she could rescue her crew. Here she is looking brand new on the Grand Line floating on a base of carved foam.

Exquisite work! The base, wave action and the beautifully made model are timeless. Nice shots too! The sail looks like it is filled with air!!!! Superb!!!
