Lets see here..... :hmm: carry the 2....that makes 30 of these wee telescope boxes that need to be made, well, have been made. It took several hours and a few naughty words to get it done. I guess I could have spent $75 for a set of 10 3D mounts from Shapeways
Thanks mustang
You mean these suckers? Yikes on that cost!

Yes, Stick, those guys, :wow:

I'm done with the Main guns and 5"/38 mounts and started on the superstructure. I am filling the bulkhead joins and going to add the PE. The guns are not attached either.

Looking good! Overall how do you rate this kit? I would like to build the North Carolina one day.

Thanks Floki
I'd say it's one of there better ones, not the any of them are bad. Good detail, nice fit, some PE. It really doesn't need a detail set except for the crains, catapults, radars and railing. Anything that really can't be made from the molding process and end up looking good. There's no blast bags for the main guns and the 5"/38 mounts are a little lacking.

I've been plugging away at all the small PE parts. I completed the 15 quad 40 Bofors mounts, finished the cranes (no pics yet), one more catapult to do, working on the superstructure mast, Mk37 gun directors x 4, Sk2 Radar dish and Mk8 gun director radars x 2 (done). It's taking me forever Tongue Tied

I ordered some 5"/38 twin gun mounts from Alliance Modelworks because I wasn't happy with the ones I made up. The periscopes just didn't look good to me so I when ahead and bit the bullet.

How many more of those quad Bofors mounts are there left to assemble?

Some really nice looking Bofors are they plastic or resin?
