The Northrop P-61 Black Widow was the first operational U.S. warplane designed as a night fighter, and the first aircraft designed to use radar. The P-61 had a crew of three. pilot, gunner, and radar operator. It was armed with four 20 mm Hispano M2 forward-firing cannon mounted in the lower fuselage, and four .50cal M2 Browning machine guns mounted in a remote-controlled dorsal gun turret. It was an all-metal, twin-engine, twin-boom design. The first test flight was made on May 26, 1942, with the first production aircraft rolling off the assembly line in October 1943. The last aircraft was retired from government service in 1954.

The GWH kit is said to be one of the best kits of the Black Widow available and compared to the old Revell kit I built years ago I agree.
Just a bit to show on this. The interior is beautiful and comes with decal placards. The seats are a headache to build but look good in the end. I added the cables under the control stick/wheel. The IP looks fantastic and should have individual gauges. The A version does this B version shows in the instructions but they are nowhere to be found looking online I'm not the only one to not get my IP decals. I have some German individual gauges from airscale but I got them for another project.

I'm building this as Lady in the Dark credited with the last confirmed kill of WWII.
Thanks for looking in!

I'll be watching this one. Just got the Revell kit for Christmas. May swap for this one... looking good so far.

I’ll be watching this one as well. I’ve done the old Monogram version. I wholeheartedly agree on the gauges! They should at least done color PE gauges.

Any figures included?

Thank you guys, the kit claims it comes with individual gauge decals but mine didn't and looking online I'm not the only one who's kit didn't come with them. It's going to change the way I display this build, I was going to have the canopy open but now I'm not.

Great build! One that deserves a proper IP. How about ordering a set of Airscale USAF instrument decals? Less than $10.
