1/350 Academy Oliver Hazard Perry

Post by Modelcrazy »

So, I'm crazy.
No not really, I received a 1/350 Academy for a Christmas gift and I promised to get it done next, so here it is, started.
I had so much fun putting the Spruance together that I'm looking forward to the Perry. A much smaller ship, it's similar in design to the Spruance.

Of course it will go in a water base but not high seas.

You’re off to a rapid start here. :hmm: Christmas was just a few days ago...

Nice! Didn't the OHP use the same hull design as the Spruance?

No. The Spruance, Ticonderoga, and Kidd Classes all used a common hull. The Perry’s used a different design.

Thanks Mark
Alright this is what I was able to get done so far. I received a PE bender for my birthday and, using it for this project and love it. It takes time to set up and bend the parts but you only do it once, not go back and fix what you bent with tweezers, which ends up taking longer than doing it right the first time.

Some here is where I got last night. The PE set is missing some railings and ladders but I have a genetic set so no problem.
