Wow!!! That IS a big aircraft alright Lyle!!! Silver is gonna show faults off a lot better than black would I think. I tend to use it whenever I've got a lot of bodywork goin' on.

Some days you get the bear, some days the bear gets you.

While trying to fit/trim/fit/glue some of the innumerable tiny pieces on the nacelles, guess what popped loose?

Oh that sucks. Do the parts just butt join there? Minimal surface contact area for glue?

As I look at this. I starting to think I never glued the lower joints...Say it with me!

butt joints. The interior parts of the nacelle seem to be too far forward. so, they don't fit on the port side. They go here

and should look pretty much like

Man, that is some serious separation there Lyle! I'm sure you'll be able to wrestle that back into shape.

Doodle looks so hilarious! I broke out laughing when I saw that pic, especially with your description!

Seeing all of your sanding and filling I thought, “suddenly my Enterprise doesn’t look too bad.” I test fit an end cap and both halves split immediately afterward. Do not tempt the gods, Lyle. And do not trim one hair of your hound. Those are his aerials, man. He’s picking up signals. You gotta let him be your early warning radar!! All the best. I am glad you reglued!

Saw that on your post. It happens so much, that I expect it. CA and accelelerator. Then sanding.

Doodle Bug is a hoot. He did go to the groomer a day or so later with his two brothers, Dusty and Baxter. Right now Bax is sleeping on his blanket by the fireplace. Dusty is sleeping snuggled up to my right hip and Doodle is laying (asleep) on my left thigh. I am a human dog bed.
