My other current build. A KP 1/72 Grob Astir.
As some of you might know my last name is Grob (yes, Borg backwards!). So when KP came out with this kit is had to have it. Or two. Or three actually....

Any way, the cockpit is simple. I have only added seatbelts made with Tamiya Tape.

I also made a small addition to the canopy. Glider canopies often have little sliding windows. So I made that from thin plastic and tacked it on with Future.
An other little correction was a small hole on the nose. Sailplanes often have these (don’t know why). Other then that it is all out of the box. It is a pretty simple kit with reasonable fit (it is short run so you have to test!)

I'm really habby that KP made lots of little civilian in 1/72 (but price again tto high..)

Very interesting subject! Haven't seen any builds of sailplanes! I wonder what hole is for... towing?

My guess yes for towing. Then again, maybe not. Perhaps there is a hook or hook loop of sorts inside. Just a blind educated guess.

Cool subject - and a must have given your surname. Only other glider builds I've seen were done by Kensar over on FSM. He's done a couple.

That is indeed where the tow hook attaches. That way there is no pitching tendency when the tow line tension changes.

Lovely to see a Sailplane being built!
