Well, boy howdy and yippie. Opened up this rascal to trace the clear parts to cut masks. The windscreen is toast. Come to find out it isn't supposed to be in two pieces, with a chunk missing and two cracks in one of the pieces. Who knew. E-mail sent to Roden. Thomas has said they are somewhat slow to respond and with the current environment...there is no telling how long it will take.



Quite the buzz-kill on this kit. I don't suppose anyone has an extra they could send me? We can deal. Or, maybe Fermis could smash-mold one? Anyway. Here we go again.

What!? And you haven’t reached for the glue yet. What about aftermarket replacement canopy?

Bought this off of Ebay, as I usually do. I believe this was broken and the seller did not specify this. Everything else seems okay. Haven't had a chance to look for aftermarket canopies.

Damn that sucks! Nothing like getting a kit that has missing/broken parts. Sorry but I don't have a replacement for ya.

Any way to tack it together and use something like kristal klear to bridge the missing piece gap? Then dip the whole thing in future or the like. No idea how that turns out but worth a try (for my future notes lol)

Subscribed. It's such a beautiful subject! Good luck fabricating or replacing the clear windshield piece. I would be tempted to cannibalize clear packaging with similar compound curves such as disposable razor packages...

I think it could be “assembled”...as it were. Might give that a try, as there is nothing to lose. Neither Roden nor the seller is responding.

Thanks, Bruce. I really like the aircraft and was looking forward to building it. I know Fermis does some smash mouth forming. May try him.

Too many fumes, guess! Got a partial refund from the seller, but I should have asked for more. Oh well. Still nothing from Roden. Are they still n business?

I've noticed that when I put Testor's red tube glue on the Pringles lid to use for small applications, it dries crystal clear . . . So I made a little box out of popsicle sticks and put a pool of glue in in. It is now drying. So far, so good enough. I don't know how flexible it will be, but it ma be enough go fit in for the missing piece on the windscreen. Nothing to lose in trying.
