What a great kit, nothing but fun. I robbed some P-38 tanks from my Airfix F-80 scrap heap, and a 75 gallon tank from an Academy P-51D kit. The kit has only bazooka tubes and paper tanks, but the paper tanks were not used in the Pacific. This scheme is for the 69th Fighter Squadron which operated in New Guinea and the Philippines. Lots of gas because range was always a problem for the P-47 in the Pacific.

I could have weathered it more but in 1/72 it's so easy to overdo it, and what I did do is hard to see in the scale.

That's a very tight looking bird. I'm always impressed what's possible in that small scale.
The pictures look like the camera sensor whas a bit puzzled by all the green and blue tones. The white blance seems to be a bit off centre.

This is one of my favorite subjects, and I am over the moon! Great work. If you want my opinion on color balance, I think there is a bit of a color cast issue from the sensor output. I can correct in Photoshop. However I know you know what you are doing so maybe the color cast is a signature?

Personally I would shoot with a white or gray background and add a chip chart to adjust the reds. Let me know what you think.

Thanks, guys.

Bruce, I may have left my halogen light on when I took these photos, I normally turn it off when I take photos. Everything else is 6000K. I have red green color blindness so I will trust your judgement. I sent photos to Paul Boyer and he helped me get the light right for my photo setup.
