Just called my LHS to see if they carry it. He said they have gone by the wayside, so if you can find it .... get it. Joe's engine post reminded me to go look for this. The LHS did have a different product from I think he said, "Creative" something called 'tenax-a-lene' or so I heard. Supposed to be the same stuff. They wanted 6.99 for it.

Guess i'll be ordering some from ebay. Do I get 2 bottles or 12?

nah, get the stuff from flexi file. its the same thing with about twice as much in it and about the same price. flexi-file plasti-weld

I use Micro Weld, citrus based, non toxic and it melts plastic like it is MEK!

I am finding many alternatives. Seems the rail-roadies use it a lot.

I really like the Tamiya extra thin adhesive.

Tamiya extra thin is excellent. I use that when I need a good bead and the parts are small enough that I don't need a heavy bond. Then I use Testor's orange tube glue. For liquid glues, I always use Tamiya Extra Thin.

Same here: once got Tenax here in Germany and found this stuff working great. Thinner than water and very hot stuff.

Got some bottles of Tamiya Extra Thin Cement later and have never been back to anything else! As good as Tenax but way easier to get here.

I've used Ambroid Pro-Weld on my model railroad for years. Just seemed logical to carry it over into scale plastic. Micro Mark makes a similar product called "Same Stuff", which is exactly that; the same stuff. It doesn't seem to be as volatile as Tenax 7R, but has almost identical adhesion properties.

I'm screwed. First the modeling gods discontinue Gunze Aqueous and Floquil paints and now Tenax 7R? I swear by it......melts anything styrene. Off to the LHS tomorrow to clean them out.
