What Bruce says. A very cool, ready looking tank.

Also the first tank equipped the Bundeswehr. Followed by the M48, and then the Leopard once Germany got back into the business of designing and building tanks.

Wow is that an MG42? And a bazooka next to them on the right?

Or perhaps an MG-3 (the successor to the MG42) ?
Still in production and in use

I love this photo! The early Bundeswehr was an interesting blend of late WWII Heer and US influences. Notice the camo is the same as the Heer splinter pattern. The boots and gas mask case are updated but look similar. The machine gun is probably either a new MG1 or MG2 (rechambered MG 42). And yes, that is a Super Bazooka, aka 3.5” rocket launcher.

:hmm: The early Bundeswehr is for sure a neglected topic. Thanks for bringing it up, Carlos.

The subject of the M74 I modeled was in Bundeswehr markings when it arrived in Woodland.

Sweet! I love that photograph as well. I personally would love to have an M47 in my scale so I could do this tank, but nobody makes one in 1/72 scale. They go right up to the M-46; skip the M-47 and jump right to the M-48... in five variants! :headslap:
