1/48 Hawker Hurricane Mk. I

The kit:

Airfix Hawker Hurricane Mk. I.

I will be building it as No.32 (F) Squadron based out of Biggin Hill and Hawkinge - July 1940

So far I've primed and painted the fuselage interior, the cockpit and wheel well section RAF Interior Green.

The cockpit is pretty much barebones minus seatbelts. Most likely I will attempt to make my own using masking tape and wire for belt buckles. Not too sure how successful that will turn out for me though. :bag:

Cool. Any particular markings in mind? I'm doing a polish 303 squadron here in a bit. I think I have the new tool/boxing of this kit.
Thanks,
John

The Hurricane on box cover. Haven’t really decided whether to put pilot in seat yet since I suck at figure painting. If my attempt at making my own seat belts is a disaster, the pilot is going in the pit.

The markings on the cover are cool. The oversize code letters

Doh - just saw you're calling out of the markings. Ya 1/48 figures are not easy - except modern pilots with the shield down
Thanks,
John

Unless of course they have flight helmets with fancy markings... :hmm:

I need a little advice... I've got the propeller assembled and ready for primer and paint. But before I do that, the scribe line on prop tip is very, very faint to see. If you zoom in, you'll see it. I want to scribe it a bit better but not sure the best way to do it. Any ideas?

Best would have been to scribe it before you attach it to the prop. Then you could set a scriber at the right height and turn the spinner against it.

I decided to paint the pilot since I got lazy to attempt the replicate seat belts. So far, so good on painting the pilot. Pics forthcoming....
