Spent a few scattered minutes at a time throughout the day painting the pilot. Here he is in the cockpit. Stick is too short to place hands on it, Tried everything to get him to get a attachment. No dice. I'm calling him done. Once the canopy is closed, no one is gonna see it anyway.

I used Testors RAF Blue Grey, RAF Trainer Yellow, French Tan for belts, Weathered Black for boots, RLM 23 White for hands (further research I found out WW2 RAF pilots wore white gloves) I stopped by Hobby Lobby this afternoon to pick up Testors airbrush thinner and a couple Vallejo colors - Medium Fleshtone (pilot's face) and Brown Leather - for headgear. After it dried, I went over it with a light coat of Testors Black Detail Wash. Once that was dried, I gently dabbed it off with a moist sponge dipped in water wiping off excess wash. I was happy with how it came out.

Well done.

Dude he looks great - really nice job. Hit him with a flat coat and a wash and your golden. Really nicely done
Thanks,

He turned out well. There is not much more you can do with a 1/48 figure.

Thank you. It really means a lot to hear that. This gives me a little confidence in figure painting.

Figure looks great!
March as one, Don't look back
Odin's sons... Attack!
Unleash hell! Do not repent! Warfare grants us no lament
Let your weapons slash and tear This is no place for fear
Hold the lines! Move as one! In unity our victory's won
Our shields will form a mighty wall
United we shall never fall

I'd say you nailed that guy perfectly. Way to go!

Considering this Airfix is dated about 2005 and pretty much bare bones, Definitely not like John's Airfix Hurricane kit.

Cockpit on lower wings. Yeah... pretty dismal with the huge lack of detailing for the "office".

John got it right with color of wheel wells. Instruction guide assigns it as Interior green. Looking at the actual pics, on the real Hurricane it looks more a silver dope color. I mixed RAF Interior Green with Aluminum and a few drops of white.. I lightly airbrushed it over RAF Interior Green I had already painted prior to researching the wheel well actual true color.
