This one and the Hasegawa Kawanashi flying boats are some that I never had a chance to build back in the day. I’m looking forward to following along here!

Nice subject and good to see it in a different scheme.

Wow! that's cool build! Thanks John!jkim wrote:Very cool! I don't if you follow him but (coincidentally) Chris Wauchop's most recent blog entry is his build of the Airfix Sunderland Mk I...

He's got some in-progress pics that might be helpful and as always, his painting and weathering are top-notch.
Thanks Gary, I am but I rarely post on BM as I really don't like the feel of the forum - It's not a place a really fit in.Gary Brantley wrote:Good luck with your model Stuart! It should be quite striking when done. Are you a member at Britmodeller by chance?
lol! It is rather large, but should just about fit.KSaarni wrote:That will be a massive plane when ready!
How on earth will you be able to build it on your, sort of portable bench ??

Oh I totally agree, I'd also love to build the modern Japanese flying boats and the ones the USN used in Vietnam.Stikpusher wrote:This one and the Hasegawa Kawanashi flying boats are some that I never had a chance to build back in the day. I’m looking forward to following along here!

Moved.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Thanks Lyle - it's going to take me a,while to sort this out - probably going to have to build a new step with plasicard.
