I consider the Kingfisher done!

Was a rather nice small kit to build even if there are some issues with fits here and there. But then again, I am a little bit spoiled with Tamiya quality.

The decals were not either comforting so well, had to use Tamiyas Mark Fit Strong, which is rather hot and always afraid of causing more damage than it's worth.

As with the Comet, I stepped over any weathering, I'm fine with this factory fresh Kingfisher.
(there are a few touch-ups needed still, but those I wait with when my Seagull is in painting stage)

That is a magnificent looking build. Great looking!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

That is one clean beautiful Kingfaisher Kari! Very nicely done!

I can’t wait to see what you do with the Seagull.

Kari, the Kingfisher is a beauty! As for the interior of the Seagull, I would go with silver lacquer on the metal parts but there must be a lot of fabric in there too, right, so a linen color with a tad of silver peaking through? I worked on N3N's in the 60's and though the frames on the original airframe parts we had were aluminum angle they had a really heavy coating of silver lacquer that paint stripper had little effect on.

John, how does the interior of doped linen look? Say like the interior of camouflage printed fabric with a ghost of what's on the outside? Would the Navy have given an extra dose as a preservative measure in the sea air environment?

Many thanks John, the cockpit will be more in silverish. The canopy glass is pretty thick plastic, the cockpit floor will be in a darker shade, just simply to see some contures through the canopy.
