Catastrophy hit my Wildcat build, while removing the carrier film.

The removal process of the first five roundels went so extremely well, that I decided to, why not, video film this removal process with the last, the 6:th roundel.

BUT, then Murphys Law kicked-in

Oh man... I'm not sure I will use those new fangled eduard decals. That's not the first fail I've seen with them.
Thanks,
John

Oh Helvetti!!!! Sorry to see that Kari!

I'm sure it's fixable though.

Man those decals suck - they're much to much of a risk to use.

Thank you guys!

And yes Stuart, the swearing word Helvetti fits very well in this situation! :-D

To be honest,

I lost all the mojo for this build, will hopefully continue when I find a new decal of the right size to replace this one.
And then other details, antenna cable etc, could be done as well.

I tried to replicate some wear on the paint/marking.. but, it ain't good, a new decal can save this build.
But for the time being this bird is now waiting for better days.

Oh, man... she's looking so so good! Can you lift the damaged decal with tape or ? If you post the diameter of the decal we can collectively rummage through the spares. This one is too nice to let sit.
Thanks,
John

Well, you did a magnificent job on this up to this point. I'll patiently wait for your final finish. It'll be worth the wait. :shoutout:

Kari, several companies make the US stars that you need. I’m sure that one of them will cover your needs. At a minimum some F4F decal sheets come with the stars as well as the aircraft markings, so that might be an excuse to get another… :stirpot:

Thanks and you are absolutely right, I took also a look at AM decalsets, and there are a number of sets that has the decal needed.
That seems to be the way forward!
