Hi Dudes!

Sorry for not sharing this one sooner - I just picked it up last week and started building it.



This is where I am so far...





Cockpit is all OOB with Eduard decals, brush painted with Tamiya.



It's mostly a nice kit but I had some issues with the nose - the fit and engineering is appalling, or at least it is for me - I made a right hash of it. I'm currently trying to sort out the central seam on the top cowl with Mr Surfacer 500 & PPP.



I'm building this as a little tribute to my recently departed Grandfather - I hadn't seen him for a long time but apparently he got into modelling in later life.

Now when you mentioned it, I did also struggle with the nose, was difficult to get it "right", the top of the cowling just did not fit ok
Applies to Eduards both scales. 1:72 and 1:48.. As a matter so much... that the Spitfire ended as one of the many queens on shelf... next to the 1:72

That's pretty the same as me Kari - I had exactly the same fit issues on mine. I've managed to mash it into shape, it's not pretty, but it'll do. I actually had to use a fair bit of filler on the bottom and top cowl, and some Mr Surfacer.

I've managed to sort out the cowlings as best I can, I've fitted the canopy and assembled the 14 part radiators!





I really do like these bubble top Spits.

I think I'm pretty much ready for paint - I'm going to leave off the gun barrels until after I've finished. The potential to knock them off is quite high!

I've finally got my xtradecal sheet. As appealing as the Free-French example is, I'm going to do a wartime bird with a sky spinner and band.





I suppose the next question is though - should I add the bombs or not?
