These are the sole survivors model kits from my past...

Monogram '56 Chevy. I converted this into a 4x4. LOL!! It looks pretty good when I did this about 12 years old.

Next I believe these were called Funsters. Completely forgot I still had this.

Monogram '57 Chevy Nomad

One of my favorite Monogram kits - S'Cool Bus

This one is a real oldie! Didn't realize I still had this. I don't recall the kit brand so I'm thinking Revell. The only surviving Space themed kit... in a bottle too!!

I probably kit bashed the engine on the ‘56...

I will admit, I never painted the body on any of those car kits. Decals on bare plastic

Ah well, when you’re a kid........

Especially that Apollo-Soyuz kit in the bottle!

I am thinking of restoring this one soon. Nothing but a simple oven cleaner bath to strip off the old paint.

I may even add a cork to finish it off. Maybe even a new background too. Should be an easy resto session.

Pretty cool stuff! I wish I could see the kits I did as a kid/teenager. No airbrush and old Testors glue. I don't even remember that the hell I painted them with.

Pretty cool indeed! And quite a few have survived the decades here!

That’s gotta count for something. Aside from a handful of 1/32 & 1/35 amor builds, mine all were given away or went to my kids to play with when they were little. There were no survivors…

Yup, Testors tube glue here too. Paints were Pactra International, Polly S, and Model Master…

I don’t remember finding those before the early 90’s… Their first formula. Just like the original Tamiya acrylics they hand brushed much better than their second formula. I was not able to get my mitts on any Tamiya acrylics before ‘84. Before then it was only Polly S for water based hobby paints that I was able to find.

Model Master enamels yes, acrylics wasn't out yet in the early 90s.
