Hi Carlos,

Put me down for one of these as well as the P-47 - I've never built ANYTHING Japanese.

Cheers!

Stuart, your Zero sen has been added. If you’ve never built a Japanese aircraft before, there is no more iconic aircraft from Japan in WWII. Excellent choice! :shoutout:

Thanks Carlos. I've never built any Japanese aircraft, but I've always liked the look of them - and for £5-00 you can't go wrong with this kit. The only issue I may have is paints - I don't have any IJN shades, nor that weird coloured primer they used in the interiors.

The weird color primer is only used in places like the wheel wells. The cockpits were in Greens. Nakajima built Zeros used a color very close to the RAF cockpit gray green. Mitsubishi built Zeros used a shade of green very close to US interior green. The version of Zero you have all came off the assembly line in overall light gray. Any green topsides were field or depot applied. So you can go with an overall gray.

Here is a good chart for mixes of Humbrol on Japanese aircraft. You’re going to use the N/navy colors, not the A/army colors

That's a really useful link Carlos - thanks for sharing that - I've added it to my favourites.

I was thinking about getting one of these sheets - rather than doing the green camo'd version on the box. :hmm:

You’re quite welcome Stuart. I just had a look at that kit on Scalemates. Interesting that the only have one markings option in the kit. And that Airfix suggests Humbrol 90 Beige Green, AKA Sky for the Mitsubishi light gray. That just might work… :hmm: That decal sheet though is a nice choice!
