Old kits came with clear window inserts for all the tiny windows which created difficult assembly/paint decisions. Kit's like this have all the window holes with no glass which I find curious. Most kits come with window decals which look great in 1/144 scale so the idea is to fill the window holes in the fuselage, make it nice and smooth and put the window decals on like so
Now, I read a recent build thread where the guy did partial painting, filled the windows with resin like I did, polished the windows then put the fuselage together, masked the windows off and fixed any seam work and finished painting - look brilliant, but not going to tackle that on this monster

Ah okay, that makes sense, the decal windows look perfectly acceptable at that scale.
Sorry - did you say Revell had moulded the holes but HADN'T included the clear parts?!?! That's crazy!

Yes, not uncommon - perhaps I need to read more build threads

Got the fuselage together, wings and horizontal stabilizers together. Doing a test fit here and the wings have an excellent positive lock and shouldn't require any filler so I can paint off the model and attach later. The horizontal stabilizers are a bit loose and will require careful attachment as I want to paint them off the fuselage as well. Engines next.
Thanks,
John

That there is a big girl!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..
