Dragon 1/700 HMS Invincible

Post by Glamdring »

Here I have been logging this on FSM, and forgetting to share here. Call it the new user jitters. :giggles:

This has been in progress for several weeks, so forgive the photo intensive first post. This model was released as part of Dragon's 25th anniversary of the Falklands War, so is 15 years old. As usual with Dragon, fit has been decent but the hull had a slight warp and needed some reinforcement to get the deck to sit flush, and some filling around the seams.

Please excuse my poor photography, it is definitely a weak point in my hobbying:

Then painting, by hand commenced, with the waterline masked and painted:

And the masking and painting of the flight deck has occupied my last two days' modeling time:

This is where it stands as of today. Not much left to do but add the superstructure, PE, decals, and the winged things. That probably means I will wrap it up by Christmas. :giggles:

Looks great!

I certainly will! I have an IJN ship in my schedule already for next year, but I recently added a 1/350 US Destroyer to the kit pile as well after watching Greyhound....

Brilliant job so far! I love it, thanks for the memories. I have all three of the Invincible class carriers built. What fun!
