With all my current builds needing some slow work, I pulled out a 1/72 B6N2 by Fujimi. It was a nice little kit which I kept simple and it built up quickly. Gunze IJN Green over Alclad ALC-101 Aluminum in a thin and variable layer, and the underneath is Aeromaster Nakajima IJN grey. I made the antenna mast from PE scrap, the wire is Uschi Super Fine thread. I painted all the markings but the tail code, which of course did not go well and will be replaced as soon as I get back from repair the computer that runs my ALPS printer. The code was on a B6N1 and isn't right for the B6N2 which has multiple exhaust stubs instead of the single exhaust on the B6N1. Fujimi must not have found the photo I did!

Very nice Jill !
What red did you use for the roundels ? I might also try in my next Zero build to paint the roundels, instead of using any decals. Might be the easiest option..

Nice! I couldn't imagine masking that canopy in 1/72! Well done.
Thanks,
John

Re: Fujimi 1/72 B6N2 Jill
Thanks, everyone.
John, the canopy lines are mostly straight. I used 2mm Aizu tape and masked off all the vertical and airbrushed them, then I removed the vertical masks and masked off the horizontals and sprayed them. I hand painted the windscreen frames with a 3 bristle brush.
Kari, the roundels were done with Tamiya flat red over a white base on the sides and tops, and then when dry rubbed to a semi-gloss with a not too dirty finger tip. On the bottom they are just red over the IJN grey base. Sometimes I think they are a little too bright over the white base, I'm not really decided about that yet.

Re: Fujimi 1/72 B6N2 Jill
Great build John. I think I need a few of these quick builds to start off the new year
Re: Fujimi 1/72 B6N2 Jill
Nice! That was quick,, too...
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

A very nice looking build and just under the wire for the year
