Here is my recently completed build of the new IBG Focke Wulf Fw190D-9 Early Production kit in 1/72 scale. It's a big step down from my usual 1/32 scale builds and the results show my lack of expertise at executing certain things at this scale. But it was a fun journey and an interesting experiment in technique application. The build was pretty much out-of-the-box without anything added since the IBG kit is so well featured, complete with PE details.

Amazing work John! Your ability to shrink your 1/32 skills down to 1/72 is incredible. What did you use for the antenna wire.

Thank you! I'm not sure I'm sold on the rivets at this scale. In person, it doesn't look too bad but the close-up photos really emphasize the busy-ness that the rivets inflict on the eyes.

I've been thinking about what to jump on after this build concludes and I think I'm going to go back and re-start the big Hawker Tempest build.

Thanks Clint! Learned some on this build and built some confidence using the Badger Sotar airbrush so it. It also helped kick in my motivation, which was what this project was all about.

I used Uschi's elastic thread for the rigging. Bruce gifted me a couple of spools (thank you Bruce!) a few years ago and I've been using it fairly consistently now. A bit easier to manage than stretched sprue and it is definitely more secure due to the elasticity.

Thank you Stuart! Picking up the 1/32 D-13 felt REALLY big in my hands. Almost hard to believe that I worked on such a large model after this experience with the 1/72 Dora.

John what you did in this scale is incredible. The paint work is museum quality. Seeing your work in this scale is humbling and also motivating at the same time
