So I've got my Neo, and I've got a compressor and spray-booth on order.

What do you guys use to clean your airbrushes? And any suggestions paint wise?

Depends on your paints you use. I use lacquer thinner for thinning and clean up. However, Tamiya acrylics and lacquer thinner don't play well for it reacts to clumpy mess.

I primarily use Tamiya acrylics. IPA. Just blast some IPA through it.
With the tamiya primer (Lacquer) i use turpentine.
I do have the airbrush cleaner from tamiya. I have yet to use it on my airbrush as its the same as their extra thin cement and im still trying to get it in to my head that its not actually glue, its a solvent.

I normally use Windex for acrylics and hardware store lacquer for enamels, for airbrush cleaning. I sometimes follow the Windex with lacquer thinner. I think it is called cellulose by the British. I have only had one brand of acrylic react badly with lacquer thinner, and it was supposed to be thinned with water only. I often thin Tamiya X and XF paints with lacquer thinner or Mr Color Leveling Thinner. Of course, just because it has worked for me doesn`t mean it always works. I quit using the water only paint because water was not a good enough airbrush cleaner for me.

Like most people here, I use the store brand lacquer thinner through my airbrushes to clean them.hen again, I use primarily enamels, but it also works to clean my airbrush after using Vallejo acrylics. I have yet to use Tamiya paints through my airbrushes.

Good luck my friend!

Windex for Tamiya
Lacquer thinner for everything else

I will shoot clean water through after the cleaner

For the NEO make sure to clean the needle thoroughly

I've been using Tamiya Airbrush Cleaner for everything! It works so well on cleaning the airbrush.

How do you go about doing that - do you remove it?

I always did. But just be careful ramming it back in. My needle retainer venturi thingy at the tip has a crack in it. Doesnt affect the performance much. But still.
I was rough as guts with mine when it was my main. And it took the punishment like a champ.
2 things i will recommend for it though. Polish the needle. Out of the box its a little rough. And tweak the spring pressure in the trigger if you can. Theres plenty of videos out there on the youtubes about tweaking your airbrush for better performance.
