Joe's 1/48 Monogram OS2U Kingfisher-Better Canopy Masks-01/05

Post by mustang1989 »

Welp.....this all came in the mail today. Blacksheep has been working away on his Kingfisher and I've always wanted to build a Kingfisher BUT....never liked the Monogram kit. When I went on a search for a possible newly released kit from a possibly different manufacturer, I turned up with nothing but all these newer released Monogram/ Revell kits. However, I did find an update set from Flightline Engineering that was worth its weight in gold. Pretty much every aspect of this kit has been upgraded/ revised by this guy. Beautiful update set for around $50 shipped.

In any case, Tom, if you're in here....thanks for the inspiration. I hope to start this holy grail build very soon:

Awesome. Another Kingfisher build. I'll be watching yours and Toms to see how the detail sets work out. Always been a fan of the Kingfisher.
Thanks,
John

Looking forward to seeing the magic you do to this one. The PE bits are a pain. Just sayin’.....

Right??!! It's the only way I would've started one of these. For years I wished that another manufacturer would've released this aircraft in 1/48 scale but this right here is the next best thing. I'll need some help along the way to keep from stuffing a blown small black Chevy engine into it though.

MAD MAX!!!!!!!!
lol. Im keen to see how this turns out. I do love a good float plane.
You can learn all the math in the 'Verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurtin' 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
