Do you build 1/72 Tom?

If you do - AZ models came out with a new range of Kingfishers in 2019

It is a short run (ish) model company though so I've no idea how they would build up.
Having built a few AZ models (mostly helicopters) I can say they do fit together very well for short run kits. There are some issues, especially with the canopies, but overall they are pleasant to build.

Beautiful job on that bird! I do love the Dark Sea Blue!

I used to build a lot of 1/72 scale stuff in my youth years but nah... not anymore.

I had the Kingfisher next to the Hellcat and saw a differences in size. I was surprised the Kingfisher was a small aircraft. Probably they were built that way to accommodate space to launch off battleships or cruisers. Both are 1/48 scale.

Don't know why the last photo uploaded upside down. Oh well... :bag:

Action shot from inside the loop!

Really interesting size comparison Tom, the Kingfisher is a far bit small than I thought it would be.

Looks great but you could probably benefit from an extra lamp or two!

Nice work, Brother. This reminds me of when I built this kit, two actually. I managed to find the long out of production resin pits and engine as well as sourced floats from Lone Star models and vacuform canopies. I bet I have 100+ hours in that bird. At the time it's all that was available in 48th. Now there are more options to build this beautiful bird. Currently building the KH 32nd version. Great work on this one, she looks wonderful.

If you can't fix it with duct tape, you're not using enough duct tape.

Thank you for the kind words. She was a beast to fight with but I got her tamed in the end.
