Completion goal for 2023

Post by Brandons_Iron »

So, year after year I have a set of kits I wish to build in mind, but it never fails that I fall short. One reason or another, life, too many GB's, etc. cause me to fall short. So, this year I have challenged myself to make a WRITTEN note of all the kits I want to build THIS year and hold myself to it. So, here is my list, in no particular order, so YOU ALL can hold my feet to the fire and make sure I get them ALL done.
There are 14 in all, some are already started, most are not.

1/25 Monogram 1964 GTO, stock. My dads car when I was born
1/25 Revell 1932 5 window coupe. Planning on chopping and channeling this one.
1/24 Tamiya 1989 Sauber-Mercedes C9. Box stock with some wires and tubing - just started
1/48 Tamiya Bf-109-E4. Box stock with cover art scheme
1/35 Meng Panther Aust A early, II02 winter with full dio - barely started dio not started
1/32 KittyHawk OS2U Kingfisher. Eduard PE sets only - started, fuselage closed up, engine 90%
1/35 Tamiya M4A3E8, Full FURY build with full battle dio and crew figures - built, everything needs paint dio not started
1/35 Airfix Tiger I, goes with FURY dio
1/48 Tamiya P-51-B, Boise Bee
1/48 ProModeler P-51B, Ill Wind - built, needs some paint corrections and weathering
1/25 AMT White Freightliner Cabover
1/72 AMT XB-70A-1 Valkyrie with PE sets
1/48 Tamiya Ki-46A Frank, box stock
1/48 Tamiya F4U-1A
More if time allows.

I know this is a lofty goal, but if I don't waste time gaming I should be able to get them all done.

If you can't fix it with duct tape, you're not using enough duct tape.

That's quite a collection! Should be great fun to watch.

I'm hoping to get my socks on the right feet without falling down.

Quite a list. I tend to sandbag on my planned builds (mostly group builds) and make up with spontaneous.
BTW the Mercedes is not 1/48 :nono:
Thanks,

I don’t usually set a goal myself either. But... I intend to finish a couple of kits I tossed in the Shelf of Doom bin - the Cameo truck and the Monty staff car

I build on depending on my mood. I’m hoping to at least match or beat my 2022 build completion.

I'm sick of falling short, so this is my way of getting something done. I was hoping for 12 this last year, got 6.90 done. Gamed way too much. Stop gaming and build, I should get it all complete. If life allows that is.

That's quite the eclectic mix. Can't wait to see them. I'd be happy just getting the shelf of doom and current builds done.

However, no doubt in my mind I’ll be buying more kits to add to the stash.... :bag:
