Captain Wild Bill Kelso is ready for action...

Obviously I'm building these two - starting with the P-40B

Cheers!

Cool! - I've actually watched that film twice over the last few days! I'm really feeling the need to do a Shark mouthed USAAF P-40 just for the hell of it.

Now all I need to do is a 1/48th white scarf and stogie!

Ta! It's not too bad considering how bad the figure is, no where near as nice as the one in the P-47 - overall I'm pretty pleased with him.

Looks good Stuart, be careful of how Wild Bill treats your airplane.

Some progress on the P-51B, some rescribing has been done on the wings and fuselage, as well as some panel line removal on the wings. The exhausts have been drilled out, and there has been a little cockpit painting and assembly. I will be using the radiator exit scoop and some other associated parts from an Accurate Miniatures kit so some cutting was done on the lower fuselage. I will also be using the instrument panel from the AM kit, the Monogram plan was to cut out a decal and glue it on it's paper backing to a bulkhead on the fuselage.

Last time I built that Mustang was 20 years ago. I remember rescribing the panel lines while watching the troops roll into Bagdhad… :hmm:
I like what you’re doing with this one John.

That's a good idea that - I might well do that on mine.

Some more work done on the cockpit - just a bit of drybrushing and maybe a bit of matt coat. I've also painted the exhausts.

John, your mustang is looking good. Receiving a kit is a lot of work. Hat's off to ya for that! I'm tempted to pick up the Revell version mentioned earlier... I guess I'll stick with my D though...
