Just Experimenting... AKA My 3D Dreams

Post by cbaltrin »

Just messing around in Onshape and dreaming of when I get my 3D resin printer
This is intended for the Monogram P-51D

That looks great. But also a whole new skill set to acquire. 3d printing is rapidly changing the after market manufacturers. Cool that you are working on your own 3d stuff.

This is a great idea. No stopping you from designing even if you don't have the printer yet

LOL TJ, how did you dig up this post? It’s funny since I just posted about the completed design a few days ago. Looking back at this I see my design skills have improved markedly in the past year, although they are not near where I would like the to be…

My first FDM print... Just printed this on the A1Mini to see how it dimensioned out and what detail level I could get. I probably should have swapped out the .4mm nozzle for the .2mm one, but this was just a prototype. The actual part will be resin printed. This first print was NOT a failure so that in itself is a big win. Also, seems the prop cuff is a bit wide at the base...

Looks like those parts are usable with just a little sanding.

John, You may be right. The problem is that PLA is very hard to sand. It's definitely not Styrene.

Shape of that spinner looks spot on.
