Monogram 1/48 F-106 Delta Dart from 1983

Post by LyleW »

Okie dokie. Finding something for this GB was easy. I have a LOT of old Monogram kits. Anyway:

Cool box art, although my box is not as pristine as the picture I used here.

Well, you get the picture (not very good ones). She is a big lady. Fair number of parts

Started with the cockpit. Pretty typical Monogream instructions and their three-piece seats. I'm trying to pick out some details and may even paint the pilot, Capt. Elwood R. N. Snotlocker. I'm going back with the OD and clean up the seat belts.

Good start Lyle ... I do recommend you stop chewing on your tamiya paint lids, hate to see one come off while you're doing it :giggles:

 Not as taswty as they used to be. That is an old bottle of Flat Aluminum. Many a time the channel locks were needed.

Looking forward to seeing how this one builds up.

Really nice choice - I love this kit and look forward to seeing it built up = as I said, I really really wish I hadn't sold the one I had.

Good start on the cockpit. :shoutout:

Thank you, Stuart. It seems to have a wonky assembly for the fuselage, though. Probably due to the delta wings.

Lyle, you gonna have fun with big 'un! I suspect it goes together about like that Monogram F-102 I did a while back. Yessir, those are big birds! And in the case of the 106, big-time go fast machines too.
