Very sharp looking finish Stuart! :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout: The paintwork is nice and clean! I love the contrast between the dark wraparound camo colors and the bright squadron markings.
As far as a load out goes, I do believe that on tactical aircraft tasked with nuclear strike, it was one “special” weapon per aircraft, even if they could carry more. Only strategic types carried more than one nuke at a time as standard.

Thanks all - much appreciated!
keavdog wrote: Thu Jun 29, 2023 8:24 am Looks great! Are you on a swingwing build kick? BTW looks like the have ordinance on the swing wing - I assume they could fire from any position :hmm:
The tanks and pods where mounted on pylons that rotated with the wings as they moved for and aft. The bombs were slung under the fuselage on a Tornado. It's not actually that big an aircraft, not much bigger than a Falcon.

I do like me a good Swing wing!

Thanks Carlos - i do like the green/grey camo and high-viz markings. I agree, they're a lot more interesting.

One per aircraft was my take on it too, thanks. Thinking about it, I'm not sure if there would be much point of a relatively short-ranged aircraft carrying two. Even it survived the blast from the first one, I can't imagine it would have the range to deliver a second.

Stuart, Good work--that looks real nice! Makes me want to build an F-111!

Thanks Gents!

A chap I know with a 3D printer has designed and printed me some WE.177 Tactical Nukes. They're on the way now, so once I get them and get them painted, I'll mount one on the GR.1 and get some decent photos.

Hey remember this?

Well see that on the right, that's the cockpit that is (the left-hand one is from a Hasegawa F-111E).

Okay so I know I'm well outside the 6 month rule snice I started the Tornado; which I still haven't finish - the WE-177 is still awaiting decals), so I may have to do something again after this to qualify.

Cheers!

Yup, the six month span for this pair has passed. But you can finish these up and start a new pair.
