Pricey models

Post by keavdog »

I'm okay shelling out a bit of cash for something special. I start to choke when I see stuff over $50 - because I'm cheap :bag:
SprueBrothers is having a 15% off Meng kits sale this weekend and I'm really looking at their F-4G. On sale it's $73.00
I've built the Hasegawa F-4J a couple of times and it's a fine kit that you can find for around $50.00 so I might try and hunt down their F-4G.

And while browsing around, the Airfix Buccaneer caught my one good eye. $85.49!!!! That's whoa! prices. I'm guessing this is the trend. The kits are very, very nice - just showing my age I suppose...

I have also added a Meng 1/35 technical to my shopping cart that's $29 on sale :shoutout:

Or maybe I should not buy any more kits and build the 168 kits scalemates says I have :giggles:
Thanks,
John

I am right there on prices as well! They are nuts and when you add shipping….

I'm proud of you Lyle. You didn't bite on the Buccaneer :giggles:
I went ahead and ordered the Meng F-4G and the techinical. I found a Hasegawa F-4G on ebay for 55ish but no decals. Add 2x shipping and decals and you're over the Meng price so boom, done. Another growler in the house. :lashed:
Thanks,
John

I completely agree. I really want to give the Tamiya F-4 or F-14 a go but at around $100 to rich for me. I recently bought that Hasegawa Growler for $60, which is a good deal, but it nearly killed me.

Now I'm seeing the Fine Molds 1/72 F-4 for $50+ yikes

Not that I will get those kind of prices if I sell stuff, but this is one advantage of a not smallish stash. How much will 9 Monogram B-52's bring, I wonder (and why would I have that many?????)

Good question.... Are they the old 1/72 Monogram B-52 Stratofortress kits?

Nice. I’m a slacker. I only have three of the B-52 kits. You do know you will saturate the matket, John…right?
