Sarge...

Post by cbaltrin »

Sometimes you just want to set down with a cup of coffee and brush paint something.

This is Sarge. No, he's not quite done yet... but I thought I'd share the progress... also, nice to bust out the Testor's square bottles once in a while and use them for something.

Nice! Looks very much the Sarge.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

That's a great start on Sarge. What Testors colors did you use for the pants & jacket?

Very cool! I have a bunch of ground crew and carrier deck crew that I need to paint.

Thanks Carlos. I used Gloss brown, then dry brushed it with Testors gloss Light Brown

Oh, did not notice you asked about the pants as well. I mixed some flat olive with flat black for the base color. Then dry brushed them with straight flat olive.

The pants color looks dead on for the cloth used in the old HBT fatigues. :hmm:
I’ll have to try your mixture sometime.

I like it! He's looking sharp already! I'll have to remember some of these techniques for painting these uniforms...

I'm calling Sarge done. He'll be assigned to the model aircraft assembly and painting inspection crew -- he should be good at pointing out problems..
