Mr Cement S Glue?

Post by Stikpusher »

Hobby Lobby stopped carrying Tamiya Extra Thin Cement awhile back, but now carries the Mr Hobby line Mr Cement S liquid model cement.

Has anybody here used this stuff, and if so, how does it compare to Tamiya Extra Thin? I mainly ask because the closest Hobby Lobby is much closer than the closest real hobby shops are, and if I need supplies, it’s a much easier errand to run.

I have used it, the cement characteristics are pretty much the same, perhaps the viscosity is slightly thicker.

However, the biggest concrete difference is the built-in brush, which is significantly bigger than Tamiyas.
The brush of my Mr Cement S has become pretty used as seen in the picture.

BUT, I made back in 2019’a simpel test of different cements, of which Mr Cement S also was included in.

Many thanks Kari. I had forgotten about your thread on this. Outstanding information! I guess I’ll have to get a few bottles.

I have a back up bottle of this. When my Tamiya is out it'll get opened. Bought for the same reason as you

Yeah I'm kinda pissed that they stopped carrying the Tamiya supplies. I'll just get some from the LHS. I have a few bottles of it already.

I really like this one myself....

I wouldn't hesitate to pick up Mr. Cement S in a pinch though.

And just in case you didn't know, these two are the exact same thing.
