Brengun 1/72 Kokusai Ta-Go

Post by BorgR3mc0 »

Yes, another Japanese suicide plane. After the Ki-115 and the two Baka’s I have build Brengun’s 1/72 Kokusai Ta-Go.
This was a very minimal plane, designed for a one way trip. Although small it is clunky and not very pretty. The cockpit is quite large so it deserved some attention. And, as with most of my Brengun builds, test fit, adjust and test fit again before committing to glue stuff together.
I made this in the colours of the one prototype that was build, so no bomb and very minimal weathering.
Only external “add on” are the control rods to the ailerons.

That’s a neat looking little build Remco. Very sharp work! :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout:
I’d be somewhat amazed to learn what kind of bomb load that design could carry on its’ intended one way mission. It looks so small and fragile in design.

Nice job. I wasn't aware of this kamikaze plane - thanks for posting.
Thanks,

Thanks guys! I have a weak spot for weird planes. I currently have a Fuijmi Yokosuka E14Y1 Glenn in the bench: a submarine floatplane. Talk about a niche role.

A niche role, but the only enemy aircraft to bomb the continental United States in WWII. It holds a very historic place in aviation history for that event.

An odd bird for a kamikaze aircraft. I, too have a soft spot for finding odd aircraft kits as well. Well. anything odd...

There is one WW2 Japanese battleship I want to get - Battleship Ise with an aircraft carrier deck.
