Oh yeah... the white boxed Monogram P-38 Lightning kit. Yup... did that one too. Messed up on cutting it for one of the versions.
I'd love to get another one and the Tamiya P-38 Lightning kit.

Definitely not accurate by any means, but oh well. It's certainly better than not putting anything at all in there. Both flap areas finished, and wings glued onto the fuselage.
Still some refinement to do on the flap area. I'll know the work it needs once I get a coat of primer on it.
That will likely be the extent of the work until sometime Sunday. Saturday is museum day. Getting up at 6am, and not getting home until about the same time. It's dark when I leave, and dark by the time I get back. Super annoying.

Old Shep would be proud of your work on the flap wells Keyda. Bravo!

Thanks guys! It took a bit longer than I expected, probably a couple hours each wing, but by the time I got to the 2nd wing I was having fun doing it, which was the whole point, lol.

Looks great!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

I think that's some mighty fine scratch work, Keyda. It pushes the model to the next level.

Thanks guys!
So I made kind of a bone head move. I printed out the Accurate Miniatures instructions, and have been following them. They tell you to drill holes in the wings for the rockets. Which I did. Not realizing the Italeri kit did not come with said rockets. I dig around in my spares stuff, and don't find anything that looks similar. Well shoot. I guess that means I need to fill all the holes. Took me a couple hours using round styrene, and some putty. Once it was all sanded you could never tell there was holes there. Anyway. I had to use putty in a few very small spots. Other than that, just some sanding, and it was ready for paint.
Primer.
White underbelly.
Hanging in the paint booth with all three colors on.
The magic of my Iwata HP-CS Eclipse, (and why I have two) I didn't do any masking what so ever between colors.
Hoping to get decals done tomorrow sometime. I already threw a gloss coat on it.
