Italeri 1/72 Lockheed C-130K/ C.1

Okay so I'm almost afraid to post this up, as normally what happens once I post a WIP is the build gets screwed up - but here goes.
Following the (premature) retirement of the RAF's C-130s last year, I'm building this here kit as an C.1.
Just started working on the cockpit etc - there're a lot of bits in there, but not too many. I'm going to build this kit with all the doors closed, so I don't have to go to mad on any interior detail.
This is the sort of scheme I'm going for.
Cheers!

Looks like a fun project Stuart. Hoping you don't screw it up. And remember, we are watching

When I build aircraft like bombers, gunships, and the like I never paint cockpits, crew areas, bomb bays if they're being closed up, etc...
Following this one....

Thanks John - here's hoping!
I should have mentioned that I'm actually running a GB for this - to mark the aircraft's retirement, so it'll be a doubly poor show if I don't finish!

Following Stuart! I've got their J in the stash I'll be doing as a KC-130J Harvest HAWK. So I'm interested to see how the kit goes together.

Oooohhh you dont see many C-130 builds.
The RNZAF still flies them. They ordered a bunch of new ones and the opposition govt went "Hang on, lets put this out to tender" and everyone went "Are you dumb?" and they put it out for tender and ordered a bunch more C-130's. Upgrading from an H to a J. The H's were the first ones off the lockheed production line back in 1965.
I very much look forward to seeing this one go.

Very cool! I built that kit before. It's not a horrible kit. Just takes some basic modeling skills to fix things.

From what I can see so far, it's a pretty simple kit with good enough fit but a LOT of flash, especially around the windows.

That's cool, nothing replaced a Herc like another Herc. The RAF does now have the A400M but I'm not 100% convinced although they do look impressive when you see them - as I often do flying low down through the mountains here.

That's good to know Mike - that does look good.

Nice Mike. Is that 1/72? Bigger than the 1/48 Osprey - I may have a shelf issue...
