To be fair, I did try a bit with the hull red. I have been using Mission Models Anti-Fouling HullRed. It sprays wonderfully… brushes not so much.
Yes I could imagine that would be a PITA. tbh Lyle I am just kidding, you paint how you're most comfortable with.
I know you are a' joshin' me. The Tamiya TS-33 Dull Red is a pretty good approximation of the red-brown hull red.

I used Tamiya Hull Red myself. Just as good. I agree, Mission Model paints are wonderful airbrushing. I often hand brush their Tire Black and Worn Tire Black strictly on my aircraft tires.

A useful tip I discovered awhile back that's worth sharing...

Everytime I use Mission Model paints, I will throw a coat of clear flat before further assembly/handling. They tend to scratch easily. Better safe than sorry.

Box scale, love those old kits!

In these modern times, you could get 3-D printed vehicles in this scale

All Y'all been hanging around the wrong people. :nono:

I actually did take a quick look at the front of this to see if it could be opened up. I suppose it xould (bd picture below). But, alas, the deck plates are already in place. That would be a pretty neat project, though.

You are bad. That had to be a horrible ride with the shallow draft!

Yeah, those WWII landings were not for the faint hearted... just getting there was an ordeal. :hmm:
